Among all the things I have watched related to science, House M.D. is the most inspiring TV show.
House M.D. is a show about a diagnostician and his colleagues. The main character in this show is called Gregory House. He is in his forties. He has a very strong character. Through his words, we can see that he is sarcastic, have a miserable past, to such an extent that he is almost anti-social. In the end of season five, he finds out that he is psychotic. The undesirable traits of him include: always sneering at people, physically unhealthy(cripple). The strong image of him from both the genius side in diagnostic field and his unsuccessful personal life create sympathy for him.
Some other characters are also very visible through the way they talk and the way they act. The setting and background information in the show contributes to their characterization, too.
Aside from the characterization point of view, this show’s plot in each episode has actual medical cases, even though the cases are always very rare. The unrealistic person with a realistic disease creates an enjoyable entertainment science-fiction show. The speed of episodes is fast, which makes the plot tight and intense. At the end of each episode, House will explain how the disease works and how to heal them. The connection between two episodes is usually the personal life of each main character.
The image created through the choice of angle for each character is very successful. The angle, lights and setting adds to the overall atmosphere in this show, explaining exactly how the characters are feeling. Therefore it is a good show to watch.
